Still deciding between this, regular concrete and interlocking for the front. I can't decide

Going to have it done in a week or two, so no pics, but worth it in my mind to spend the extra money.

My last quote was $5500 for 365 sq-ft. But that included 3 steps which is more concrete.

We're looking into this as well. There's also a company that does this fairly new thing they call concrete engraving (at least it's new to me). They've done two houses in the community so we're debating between the two. The engraving looks sooooo hot, but they're getting popular and raising their prices (although I've heard they're reasonable as it is), so who knows which way we will go. We're looking to do this in the back when we have the pool put in... figure we can get the look of flag/blue stone with some medalions or patterns for a fraction of the price

FYI, the engraving is very similar to this... except the company in our area is called Carolina Concrete Engraving (but they don't have a site yet)..... http://www.atlantaconcreteengraving.com/gallery.htm

I thought they were different. Stamping is done when the concrete is wet.. they stamp the patterns and it dries that way.

Engraving can be done at anytime. They can stain the concrete and engrave any type of pattern, but it can be done days, months, or years after the concrete is poured.

At least that's what I always thought.....

Just be sure to go with a reputable guy - my neighbor had it done - looked great, but 2 years later it cracked down the middle - and any patch job on that will look like crap.

We are paying about $7-8 a sq-ft for stamped concrete. I guess it helps living near the southern border
