Started having vibration at speed a couple of months ago. Thought it was the tires, they were old and over 50K on them. Got the tires replaced. Still vibrating. Re-balanced twice, still vibrating. Moved wheels around, still vibrating. Checked wheels for true-ness, no problem found. I feel it in the seat, not in the steering wheel. It's not VCM as it happens under heavy or light throttle. Car is a 2015 AWD and has 99K miles on it. Before I go down the rabbit hole trying to troubleshoot this, any thoughts from anyone? Some things I'm considering as the cause:
- Driveshaft
- half-shafts, front or rear
- Engine mounts
- Transmission mounts
- Some other suspension or driveline components

If anyone had something similar, would be great to hear your story and resolution.

Hi,

I just got 2024 RDX and I am trying to program the homelink unit to work with my 22-years old Genie Pro. Tried about everything.

My genie head unit is pretty old, but I was able to link it with my 2023 TL.

I don't have much luck with 2024 RDX.

What I tried:

Approach 1:

I reset the code on button 1 by holding 1 and 3

I then held the button one until is blinking red and I had family member press the "learn code" while the red button was blinking.

I tried multiple combinations of these hold until blinks, then press again while the head unit is in learn code mode.

Approach 2:

Got a genie universal remote. Got it paired.

Held the homelink 1 button until it was blinking red. Held the remote close to the button while blinking red. It started blinking green.
It did not work on opening the garage.

I am posting here, but I am suspecting that there is some step I am missing that is characteristic to 2024 since my last Acuras were 2007 and 2013, so, pretty old models comparing to my most recent RDX.

Please share with me any tips or similar experiences that you think might work.

Hello. I'm a new Acura owner, 2018 ILX. I bought the car for my son. I've been driving it the last day or so and I have to say it's rather annoying. I live where there is a lot of traffic, stop signs and low speeds to deal with. When I'm going at very low speeds, the car wants to keep shifting gears, and it'll get to 4th gear before I can even hit 25mph. It's very odd and it seems very unusual that a car would do this. I had Acura look at it and their tech said this was normal and a way that Acura wants to deliver the best gas mileage. But holy cow, going less than 20mph and this car wants to keep shifting gears. It's so annoying that I really don't want to drive it anymore. If it were my personal car, I would drive it right into another dealer and get rid of it asap. Since this is my first Acura, I wanted to reach out to see if this is standard for this type of car with this small engine or if this is a sign of an issue. I just can't understand why it would be normal for any car to shift so frequently at very low speeds. I've never felt something like this in my over 35 years of driving. Would appreciate any feedback. Thank you!

My wife's 2014 RDX has been blowing hot air thru the driver's side vents when operating the air conditioning--the passenger side works without issue and is cold. I swapped out the driver side blend door/air mix motor this morning, and the AC finally pumped cold thru the driver side. However, a few hours later and it's back to blowing 90° air when on lowest AC setting. I looked at the actuator while controling the temperature dial, and I could see the gears moving in concert to the temperature control changes. Any thoughts/ideas on what could be happening and how to fix?

Well, I'm trying to replace the lower control arms on my 2013 RDX Base. The passenger side wasn't too bad but on the driver side.... Ugh! Sometimes I hate engineers. The front-most bolt that goes through the bushing. You can unthread it completely but cannot remove it because it's blocked by the lower transmission mount. Has anyone found a procedure that works that doesn't involve: removing the air box, removing the upper mount, removing the lower mount, then doing the arm?

I'm looking at a 2016 MDX with 240,000 kms on it. Price is good. the Carfax report shows no accidents, and lots of service history. However the timing belt replacement (which I understand is critical, correct me if I'm wrong) is not listed, not sure if it was done and it just didn't make it to the carfax report or what. Is there an easy way to find that out?

The vehicle drives really smooth and the body is good except for some minor scratches and curbage on the rims. Interior looks good too and is clean.

This will be a third vehicle for occasional family road trips and camping trips (our main cars are both small so not great for carrying lots of stuff) so not looking to spend a lot, which is why I'm looking at older high mileage SUVs.

Buy or no?

Well, it's about that time of year, and with a planned family drive up to Yosemite booked for the middle of July, that means it's time to get the 2015's Front and Rear suspension fully re-done.

Orders have been placed for pretty much everything minus the rear springs as I figure those are likely just fine, just new mounts/isolators for the springs top/bottom.

KYB Excel-G fronts, KYB Gas-A-Just rears, Dorman endlinks.
And everything else OEM for the bushings, mounts, bump stops, isolators, etc.

The rear KYB kit comes with most of the extra bits I'd need, like the boots/bushes, etc, but the front KYBs come bare, so I had to source all those bits.

I also ordered a fresh set of front springs so I can fully assemble the front coil assemblies at my works shop to make the installation at home a bit easier.

About 10 years ago I did a similar suspension overhaul of my brother's 2008 CR-V, but back then we were able to purchase full front and rear assemblies from Honda. Made the job doable in about 1/2 a day.
I figure if I pre-build the fronts, and have all the other parts ready on hand, it should take about the same time as before.

All in shipped ~$1100, Did I miss anything?

For my money, the best angle is the straight-on frontal one. :dunno:
