Bye Bye 3.2. hello 3.8. Kimchi 8's Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track thread
My thread for the '03 3.2TL
For the people that don't wanna click the link above...
Drove this around for about 2 years while going through various wheels...
then after having to do a smog check and signs of transmission failures.. i parted out. Went to carmax for a quote and got 4,000 for it...
looked around.. wanted a black gen coupe 3.8 with navi in 6MT but they were all out... next container would be on the 23rd.. i couldn't wait and wanted to get rid of my TL after finding out it was only worth 4,000......
found myself a nice white Gen Coupe 3.8 Track w/ Navi in 6MT. =]
moment of truth....

Looks great! You got the best color too. Only thing I don't like is the grille and the interior seems a bit austere (looks like a lot of hard plastic). We definitely need a review when you get around to it!

the car is awesome!!! there's a few problems when putting it into reverse. gotta make sure its in gear cuz sometimes, it just doesn't want to go in all the way.. uh.. theres that problem sometimes when going into 2nd or 3rd. i've heard people saying going into 5th as well.. back seats are soo small that.. when i sat there (i'm in 5'9" ish..) i had my upper body tilted to the left and my head as well.
the power is there.. maybe cuz i drove a slow TL around but the power is there.
suspension feels like i'm riding on koni shocks on full stiff since the Track suspension comes with diff suspension from diff models.. but i can't complain.. it feels great on the turns.
other little things... headlights turn off when you just turn off the car so if you forget to turn it off.. no biggie.. haha... i don't need the key as much now, walk up to the door, press the black button on handle and car unlocks and locks.. push start is also
the clutch/accel takes a bit of getting used to imo.. comparing to what i've driven MT around in: 06 RSX-S, 06 6MT TL, some ford focus in 5MT my cousin left behind...
um, as to mods.. i ordered interior lights cuz... it was only $35.. haha..
future plans? not sure.. haha. i think this car is just perfect the way it is..
for now..

Great coupe.I hope the mid-model update ditches the tacky silver hard plastic look center console, and Hyundai makes the front end more agressive looking.....those are really my only complaints on the car.

The mag performance numbers still show the G37 to be a better performer, particularly with regard to acceleration and handling. The only question is whether the price premium for this added performance is worth it vs the less expensive GC V8. (subjective)

I will say that im not a big fan of these cars but if you like it thats all that matters
