Stupid Invention?

I know nothing about cooking. Saw this on eBay. Thought it's funny and wanted to share.

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Marinade-Mas...QQcmdZViewItem

"to marinate any piece of meat in just 20 minutes or less - no overnight soaking! Simply place up to 8 lbs. of meat with your favorite marinade, remove the air "

Remove Air? This machine sucks the flavor right out . Guess they are dumping garbage on eBay.

if it's sucking the air out, won't it destroy the meat that you put in it?

Not crap.
Vacuum marination has been around for a while now. Look at the sous vide (constant temp water circulating around a vacuum bag of food with seasoning or marinade/sauce) cooking methods that have become popular.
Vacuum is a useful culinary tool.

^ - Yeah that is what I was thinking. Didn't know how to spell it though. Although the traditional way was very low and slow (not related to this thread at all). But all the same idea behind sealing the bag
