Duragloss 105, 111, Four Star UPP come to mind.
Never leave a subtance on the paint for any duration, it will prove to be a pain in the rear to remove.......

what he said! Also, if you want to apply multiple coats, you should apply one coat (then remove) wait about 24hrs and do the next. |

I use Meguiars Synthetic Sealant 2.0, lasted about 5 months last winter here in the Northeast. One coat is all it takes...It's about $20 a bottle and one bottle will do at least 5 cars.

If your only getting 5 cars your applying way too much .. you should get at least a car per ounce...

I use Collinite 476s. Below is their website. I think I paid $10 or so for a can of it at Harbor Freight.

Hey patrick....would a coat of DG105 applied this month be a good protectant for the upcoming winter months? Would it protect me through march/april? Also...I washed my car yesterday and applied the aquawax. Afterwards I started thinking I wanted to apply some DG105 for the winter...could I apply 105 over the aquawax?

George, I dont think 105 on its own will make it through to March or April my friend! 4-5 months is about tops under the most ideal of conditions, but......If you could squeek an app or two of AW in there during the winter, I think the two of us would feel much better.........
Also, feel free to add 105 atop AW. Thats not an issue, they work very well together......

Great, thanks for the info. I will try to use AW 1x a month or every other month throughout the winter months. I am going to apply a coat of DG105 tonight.

It was a bit tough to remove this time around. I think it could have been my fault though. First of all, I applied it when I got home from work so the hood was warm. Secondly, I applied it to the entire car at one time instead of per panel as the label says. Thirdly, I let it sit for about 10 minutes before I buffed it off. It felt like it really hardened and required a bit of elbow grease to get it buffed off but it looks great now.

105 "should" be extremely easy both on and off. regardless, its protected.
Applying is "ok" on a "warm" surface, just not stifling hot. If applied with correct amounts, its really easy to work with. Plus, all sealants are more easily applied to previously cleaned (Polished or chemically cleaned) or protected surfaces. Something to consider. In all honesty, its one of the easier products to use. I, like you, applied to the entire surface, then remove maybe 1/2 hr later. If you have high humidity, it can sometimes compound the removal process with smearing.

With all of that being said, I really have no idea why it was a chore. Humidity wasn't an issue either.

Hello Patrick!
got a question. I'm so noob at this still. so it's wash the car -> spray wax -> that duragloss polish (which is the sealant you said right?) I've been just doing wash and spray wax. But i guess it's time for me to apply that duragloss polish once right? |

And one more question, I was going to make a new thread but I think it's alright to post it in here.
Around my work parking structure area, there's a major construction going on. I think that's why my car gets so much dust after couple days.. Is there anyway to get them away easily? I mean every time I do a car wash, it only lasts like 3 days before it gets really dusted out again.. |
