Installing a custom Navi/Computer System

I am planning on installing a "carputer" computer system in the car. I have purchased most of the equipments but only waiting for the Double-Din LCD which will take about a week. I will post some pics of the equipments and explained what I did. But have anyon done this before on there CL or TL 01-03 and kept the stock HU? I really want to keep the stock radio or add a alpine/pioneer deck.

All you'd need is a auxillary input adapter. All you need for the headunit would be sound that I can think of..

Thanks for the reply. But I forgot to mention that I will take the stock headunit off.Late decision. (02 CL-S) I did before however did the thing you said in your post. But this time I will replace the stock headunit/radio with a double-din and I to output sound from soundcard to amp/speakers. I was reading PAC might have a harness kit but don't know which one to get.

Most aftermarket headunits have axillary inputs already. Not sure what you mean by the PAC. The PAC is to keep steering wheel controls.

I trying to say the "PAC OEM-2" unit made by PAC however they make the steering wheel thing also. I kind of figured it out what I am trying to do. I am going to take out the stock headunit and put a double-din lcd at that location. I am not going to be installing any headunit. But I am going to be connecting my carpc to my car speakers using an aftermarket amplifier. I will wired the amp > rca > audio jack of my sound card.

Why do that instead of buying a sound card with RCA outputs?

I know LOCs work with Amps I'm not sure if they'll carry the audio you'd want becuase that would be a easy solution instead of adding a extra amp if you don't go with a headunit.

Worst case buy this $4 part

Yes, big progress. I 'completely' removed the headunit and no aftermarket install. I am in the process of installing a lilliput lcd + computer in the car. What I purchased is an metra harness kit to output sound. Here are some pictures if anyone interested I can change this thread to my 'worklog' thanks.

This process took about 1.5week (Requires: Molding, sanding, primer, sanding and about six layers of final coat of paint. I keep seeing imperfection so I lightly resand and repaint. Also spraying six layers of paint cost the bezel control port on the right to be stuck and I have to sand it with miniture filer and then another coat of paint.... here are the final pictures for the bezel.

Did you buy the LCD off their website or somewhere else? Also, what model did you go with?

Where are you going to put the PC in the car?

Eby701, I am going to put the PC in the trunk with a enclosure 'metal' cage I wrap with subwoofer carpeting matching the truck interior.

Nice setup with the aftermarket radio. I was thinking of doing that taking out the cigarette socket and tray. I took my radio out completely. This why I have this thread.
