Question Best AWD sedan under $30,000?

I'm in the market for an AWD sedan under $30,000. Any suggestions?

No, I'm not replacing the TSX.

Under $30k your only choices are pretty much coming from Subaru.

Subaru Legacy...

I'm a coupe guy, but the Forester and Outback are other cars I would consider if I was going the AWD route. I like station wagons tho'

Mazda6Speed will be out soon. It's AWD with 270 horses. Might want to look into it too...

About the same price as the legacy with more power and more sporty.

Though I am a fan of the legacy as well

I suggest the Legacy GT or a slightly used WRX or STi...I'm sure a slightly used Evo would work also..

Interesting. I had two Mazda 626s (V6 5MT and I4 4AT) and neither had a tranny problem.

New deifinitely either the Subis or Chrysler 300's
Used Audi A4, may be the Jaguar x-type although I am not sure of the latter's reliability

I'd wait for that new Mazdaspeed 6 to come out. A Legacy GT would be my 2nd pick.

Ford Five Hundred or Mercury Montego... WHOO!

Just mentioning some other choices you have for under $30k, not like I'd actually buy it...

Any Audi TT's running around 30k? Or am I blowing smoke out of my ass?

Plenty Subaru choices, pretty much the whole lineup actually.

Used S4 is up there.

Look around man.

My problem with an Audi is that the local dealer has horrenduous service. My parents have an A6 and it took 3 trips to the dealer to fix a rear window water jet that threw water over the car -- not on the window. Due to design of the jet, I couldn't adjust it myself. n:

I've had other problems and the dealer has been helpless. The Audi is dropped from the list due to poor dealer service.

I don't like the Mazda 6 because it 's a Ford... thanks for the suggestions, though!

So far, I have good pts for an Infiniti G35 AWD (a little $$ over), BMW 325x (custom order to avoid $$$ packages), Legacy GT and WRX.

Anyone know if the maintenance on a Subaru turbo is expensive?

it definitely won't be anymore than Audi's. subaru's are actually pretty reliable, so not too much to worry about here. just don't do any 5K clutch dumps, and the tranny will be fine.

I'm having a mice problem in my garage. They ate some fo the wires under the hood of the A6, which made for a $50 cable-replacing bill. Do you think I could use them in my home-built AWD TSX??

it will be slow, 0-60 in the mid 6s.

compared to what its up against, it has no chance.

"Then again, formidable may be a little too much adjective, a suspicion that manifested itself in Mazda's 0-to-60-mph forecast—6.2 seconds compared with 4.8 for the Evo MR and 4.9 for the Subaru STi that we tested"
