~Car and Driver Magazine
The 0-60 time is a manufacture claim, C&D hasn't tested it yet. The regular Mazda 6 has ran 0-60 in 6.8s and it has 220HP and only 192lb-ft of torque compared to the MPS6's 274HP and 280lb-ft of torque, do the math. We won't know for sure what it'll run until they do a real roadtest on the MPS6. And the MPS6 will be more of Legacy GT and Altima SE-R competitor since they’re mid-size family sedans; EVO’s and STI’s are compact cars.

BTW, R&T had a different 0-60 claim from Mazda:

Quote:
Mazda's new performance sedan puts out 274 bhp at 5500 rpm and 280 lb.-ft. of torque at a low 3000. Mazda claims that the Mazdaspeed6 runs from zero to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds.

I don't know how many of you guys have seen the new Mazda 6 AWD turbo but in my opinion this thing was ugly. The car is so jacked up to accomodate the awd system that it renders an otherwise beautiful car to seem quite weird. The Subaru on the other hand has a much more refined look. The interior of the new Subaru is hands down better than the plasticky Mazda and it is roomier too. My dad owned a Subaru for 8 years which he bought new, and it ran trouble free from day one to the day he sold it. That in itself speaks volumes about their reliability.
