Custom fiberglass sub enclosures

Is there anyone here who produces custom fiberglass sub enclosures for Acuras? I want to get a flush mounted sub kit for my TSX. I don't know if anyone even sells these or if they are pretty much only made project-by-project.

We have premade fiberglass mods made for the driver's rear corner of the TSX. We then make the complete box to order for your 10" or 12".

A few forum members have bought them, including acuradog. Search for threads started by him to read his review.

What woofer are you looking to use? We can set it up for DLS MW110 or 112, or several other woofers.

eldude, thank you very much for the info! I would like to purchase one of these from you for sure, lets work out the details. I actually tried to PM you this question first, but your message box is full.

You don't make passenger side enclosures by chance do you? I read a few threads here, including the one by CJams, who noted there was more room on the passenger side and it worked better for a 12" sub. I believe I would like to go with 1 12" sub, if you feel it will still work well in the driver side let me know. I currently have an infinity kappa perfect 12 I could reuse, but I may get an all new JL 12. Do you need to know which one I'm going to go with to make the box for me?

Can we work it out through email, or do you want to just use this thread?

OK, disregard previous thread.

I did some searching and read your posts elsewhere... sign me up for a:
loaded 10" with DLS Magnesium Reference: $500 (with grille please)

Sorry, but I've got more questions

Can you tell me how this DLS sub stacks up against a Kappa Perfect 10 or JL 10w6?
It seems like DLS is a foreign company, and honestly I've never heard of them. I believe you deal fairly high end audio stuff so I'm trusting you here...

I'm intending to drive this with a JL Slash 500/1, do you believe this will be a good setup?

And finally... I see you said you use the 10" setup, so I assume with a decent amp like the JL its powerful enough to be heard and felt inside. I want something to really push the low end bass, but not rumble the whole car or deafen the guy next to me. I don't play my subs for everyone else to hear like some people (with very loud setups), I just want something good for my car. I guess I just want to hear your confirmation that I'll still feel a good thump and really enjoy my low ends with a 10" vs. 12". (I've always had a 12" in the past)

Also, I have a 2006 TSX. I have no idea if the trunk space is identical to the 04/05 TSX. I gotta believe it is (why would they change the trunk?) but since it is the MMR TSX, I always ask for a second opinion. Maybe we can just work it out so that if it doesn't fit I can return it? I'll eat the shipping cost if so.

Enough of the inquisition... please send me an invoice for shipping one of these to 20850!
Thanks!

I undestand - DLS has only been in the US for about 3 years. They started in Sweden in 1972.

Go to dls.se (click on the British flag for English) and read about the IASCA sound quality trophies they've won in the past few years.

I think it is a better woofer than the "Perfect" by far, and I think that it is comparable to the JL in quality of construction but has better sound quality. One thing all the DLS sub owners agree on is that it takes about 3-4 hours of playing to break in and sound "right" - it gets louder and goes lower when the suspension breaks in. You aren't going to hurt it playing it, but you need to know that it won't sound right for a few hours (DLS says 10-20, but the biggest results happen in the first 3 hours. Mine took a three-hour trip to Seattle and 1 hour of the trip back : )

Also, look for Sergeremi's post about his TSX. He has a JL amp pushing a DLS Magnesium 10" and he is all about SQ. I didn't do his box - it was done in Florida - but it is a great sounding car from what I've heard (I've talked to his installer too).

I run mine with the back half of a 50x4 DLS amp - it can use a lot more power than that, so I'm confident the 500 will do fine with it.

Maybe this afternoon I can go over to the Acura dealer and drop the box out of my car into a 2006. Stay tuned

F.Y.Izzle-Just went to the dealership today and tested my passenger side box in an 06. It's all good on the passenger side. Didn't check the drivers side, but it looks the exact same so I am going to assume it is.

Yep! The box that's been in my car since the Hot Import Nights Seattle show. The box that I neglected to have the elephants sit on to test it.

Well ain't that a dandy! That looks great from here... we'll check out the sound when it reaches the East coast. No problems on the timing, I was just hoping for an update, but "done" is an acceptable update!

That woofer is a DLS MW110. You can read "sergeremi"s comments on how his sounded in a similar box if you search by threads started by him...

that does look pretty nice. i know those are for the TSX but do you make something similar for a 2000 TL with a strong woofer? i just graduated and will start working soon so i want to free up some space in the trunk by getting rid of my big box.

CJams, do you know approximately how much volume (space) you got out of your passenger side box?

thanks

There just doesn't seem to be as much demand for the TL. Maybe when we get our new guy trained...

And the 01-03 CL I assume doesn't have much demand?
