Pioneer D3 or Kenwood 5120?

ive been contemplating for a few months on which one to get...

basically i can get the D3 through a authorized retailer for about $600 and the 5120 on ebay for 700-800...
im more drawn towards the Kenwood due to the Garmin and the non-cd navi... but im not sure if its worth an extra $200..

any input?

I'm in the same boat w/you. I'm more leaning towards the Kenwood unit due to the fact that it has the Garmin unit already in the kenwood item. There is no disc and it's an all in one. The pioneer now I hear is great & mostly about all the members on here are using it.

d3 is badass because of it's ipod interface, its just u can't use navi and listen to music because of only one cd slot, but if you only use an ipod then you don't have to worry.

And if you have an iPod your CD's should be in a box in your attic. Like my parents' record collection.

The D3 is the shizz. In the past two years I've probably installed eight DNX Kenwood's and over a hundred Pioneer AVIC models. Now ask me how many DNX's I've pulled out because of problems or customer disappoints. Great idea.... poor execution.

plus there's a $200 rebate on the d3. i was told by best buy that the nav cd for the d3 is a one time thing only. u don't need it all the time. is this true?

kenwood is getting a lot better with ipod integ. as well as navi units... but it hasn't surpassed pioneer's popularity of navi systems.

past few years pioneer has been the ultimate name.. prior to that was eclipse and alpine which are doing good still.

i'm somewhat biased on pioneers, but they're pretty damn awesome. d3's are great, i use my ipod mostly for my car so i dont need to pop anything out, i pirate movies (O.o) anyways so bam its there...

plus u can input your directions then pop out the map dvd and it'll still give you step by step directions
