Ummm, are you serious? The BMW is much more expensive; therefore, I expect better materials quality and sound deadening from it. It's not like it's leagues and leagues apart anyway. It can be compared to a BMW. It just isn't as good, but it's close enough for most people, myself included, for whom the price of the 3 series is just too prohibitive.

Honestly, its really not that much more expensive and the whole point of Acura is to be a luxury brand, correct, not to be an undercutter of luxury brands.

If Acura can't build a true luxury car at such a low price then why are they doing it?

Actually the way it is right now, Acura IS an undercutter of luxury brands. The only true luxury vehicle they build is the RL (and it's priced accordingly). I see SO many more Acuras on the road here than I do BMW and MB combined. It might just be the demographics of western , but here that's what people can afford. Don't forget, for the majority of the plebian masses who drive Ford Windstars and Honda Civics, an Accord EX-L is luxury. So anything Acura is a bonus. Often people, like my parents for example, stretch their budget to go for the Acura TSX because of the nicer features and more luxury feeling. For them, ANY BMW is out of reach with the same feature content. You think my mom gives a shit about which wheels are driven?

Think it will be interesting to see the TSX's power rating for 2006. Was just looking at the 2006 odyssey and it went from 255hp to 244hp.

Its new SAE Certified rating is 205. It would be about 212-215 under the old rating system.

Future Products: Japan -- Japanese automakers fill every segment - - Source: Autoweek

Quote:
TSX: The popular TSX sedan is slated to get a horsepower increase for the 2006 model year. A redesign is scheduled for the 2007 or 2008 model year at which time, sources say, coupe and convertible models may be added. It is also possible that Acura may offer a V-6 for the next generation.

^ i like N/A over Forced Induction any day, but the reason why the TSX handles pretty well for a FWD car is because of the light load on the front wheels. I think adding a V6 would make great economic sense; strap an Accord V6 into it, boost up the output of the TL, but in a performance aspect...

Damn...they keep coming up with reasons for me to hang on to my TSX longer...

I hope someone can confirm the V6 rumors soon because I would hate to get into an 06 TSX only to have a V6 offered a year later...

Remember the RL w/ v-8 rumors?

I'd expect that the K24 has a lot of development work tied up in it for them to ditch it or have the TSX compete against the TL. I'd be eyeing what happens for the accord euro as a predictor for the TSX.

nice job on the TSX Acura! i still want to see the new pics on the refreshed 06 model. let's hope they didn't follow the Is300 and put clear tailights that would be a disgrace.

Look at what nissan is doing with the altima and the maxima.

both come in v6 engines.

I don't see why it wouldn't be beneficial to acura to make a v6 tsx.

That thing needs a lower suspension and wider tires, it looks ready to go off road or something.

Point is, always subtract 2 cylinders from what you think a Honda product needs to determine what you're actually going to get.

the changed front makes it look so much less agressive than the 05 :boo:

I love the look of the 05, but love the new interior features of the 06.
