Best Value: Toyo Versado CUV
Yokohama Avid Envigor
Price – $175
Performance – Good
Tread Life – Average wear
Warranty – 60,000 miles
Performs extremely well on dry surfaces, and well enough on wet. In winter/snow conditions, it’s about a middle of the road tire in terms of performance. As for performance, ride quality is adequate, there’s typical noise, and slightly above average wear. Recommended for shoppers in need of a low priced tire with acceptable ride, handling, and treadwear.
Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza
Price – $170
Performance – Average
Tread Life – Below average
Warranty – 65,000 miles
These are the tires that come from the factory on many MDXs – if you’re looking to replace them, chances are, you’re not pleased with their performance. On the whole, these tires are run-of-the-mill performers with decent handling. They don’t really offer anything special in terms of traction – they’re better on dry than wet surfaces. The ride is fairly comfortable and there’s an average amount of noise. Wear is about average, too. Recommended for buyers who are happy with the ride, handling, noise and wear of the factory OEM tires.
Toyo Versado CUV
Price – $180
Performance – Very good
Tread Life – Average
Warranty – 50,000 miles
Performs extremely well across the board in terms of surface traction – dry, wet, snow – these tires handle everything really, really well. As for performance, Toyo's tires offer a comfortable ride, little noise, and a slightly above average tread life. Best value out there for buyers looking to balance price and performance.
Michelin Defender LTX M/S
Price – $250
Performance – Excellent
Tread Life – Above average
Warranty – 50,000 and 70,000 options available
Michelin has built a reputation in the industry for reliable tires, and a good example of this is the company’s Defender series of tires. They ranked extremely well among MDX drivers for driving across dry, wet, and snowy surfaces, feature a smooth and quiet driving experience, and very low wear rate. Recommended for buyers in search of the longest wearing tire with the best available warranty and acceptable noise, handling and ride characteristics as well as excellent bad weather traction.
Michelin Latitude Tour HP
Price – $290
Performance – Excellent
Thread Life – Below average wear
Warranty – 65,000 miles
On the whole, these are probably the best reviewed tires on the Internet for the MDX. That’s because they’re pretty versatile when it comes to handling all sorts of surfaces with relative ease. They’re terrific on dry surfaces, but perform well in wet and snowy conditions, too. They’re responsive to driver maneuvers, offer very little noise feedback, and have a below average wear rate, making them well worth the investment. Simply the best all-around tire for the Acura MDX, if you don't mind paying the premium price.
