Acura TL 2009-2014: Recalls and Technical Service Bulletins

With the number of recalls and technical service bulletins affecting cars today, it can be downright dangerous to ignore them on your vehicle. Here are all the recalls and TSBs you need to know about regarding the 4th generation Acura TL.

Recalls are big news in today's world, with a number of dangerous issues popping up in recent years. These issues have led to everything from minor annoyances to accidents and even deaths. This is why it is so critical that we pay attention to not only recalls, but technical service bulletins that are released for our vehicles. The 4th generation Acura TL, like all cars, has had a few issues that should be addressed if you own one. So whether you have just purchased a used one or already own a TL, here is what you need to know to keep yourself and your family safe on the roads.

Recalls and Technical Service Bulletins

Takata Airbag Inflator Recall

One of the biggest recent recalls consisted of the Takata airbag inflation (that were reported by the manufacturer) to be defective. The issue discovered could potentially make the airbags go off at any time; though, there have been no reported cases of ruptures on any of the approximately 2.23 million cars affected by the recall. Owners can check to see if their vehicle is affected by visiting Acura's VIN lookup on the recall page. Replacement of the affected parts will be provided at no cost. Because of the severity of the problem and its potentially fatal result, Acura dealers are providing loaner cars for many of those affected.

Technical Service Bulletins

Though there is only one open recall on the 4th generation TL, there are a number of technical service bulletins that have been issued for the car. Most of them consist of minor flaws, though there are some more major issues here as well. Here is a list of all the current TSBs for the 4th gen TL and links to the actual TSBs.
