Acura TSX 2004-2008: How to Program Garage Door Opener

There is nothing like having the luxury of opening your garage door without having to look for the remote. Learn how to program the garage door opener in your Acura TSX.

The Acura TSX is equipped with three buttons, which are designed to program up to three garage door openers. Realistically, if you live in a complex like place, you program the main gate, then you program the second button as your garage, and you still have a third one to play around with. Programming the garage door opener makes it convenient to open or close the garage door by a press of a button, which is better than either hanging the ugly remote from the sun visor, or looking for it in the glove compartment. In order to successfully finish this procedure, you will need the actual garage door remote, just this one time, and you will need to follow the instructions below, it should be done in a matter of minutes. Material Needed

  • Garage door remote

Step 1 – Erase previous memory

Out of the three buttons, press and hold the left and the right buttons at the same time for twenty seconds. This allows you to erase anything that was programmed previously on this button. Keep them pressed until the red light flashes.

Step 2 – Program desired button

Bring your actual garage door remote inside your car, then choose which button out of the three buttons you want designated to your garage. Press and hold the garage door remote's button at the same time as you press and hold the button in the car that you want to program. Keep them both pressed until you see the red light flash a few times. This means that your button is now programmed.

Step 3 – Program other buttons

To program another button to another remote, bring the new remote in the car, then press the other button that you want to program, and press the new remote's button at the same time. Once the red light flashes, it means the next button has been programmed.
