Acura TSX: How to Jack Up Your Car

There is a huge difference between knowing how to jack up your car and knowing how to safely jack up your Acura TSX. When it comes to working under the car, you have to make sure it's secured in place, or else you are playing with your life. Whether you have a flat tire on the side of the freeway, or you decide to jump into the world of DIY and replace your own oil, it's important that you learn the proper jacking points and jack stand points in your Acura TSX. Read on to learn how to properly jack up your car.

Acura TSX: How to Jack Up Your Car

Materials Needed

  • Jack
  • Jack stands

Step 1 – Raise the car

With your emergency brakes activated, locate the front and the rear jack points. The front jack point is in the center front of the vehicle, while the rear one is in the center rear of the vehicle. Place your jack under the plate that is the jack point, then pump the jack until the car is high enough to fit the jack stands under it.

Step 2 – Secure the car

With the car up in the air, place the jack stands in place to secure it. The jack stand points are located on the side frame rails. So if you're securing the front, place the jack stands under the frame rails on each side of the car, right behind the front wheels, and if you're securing the rear, place them in front of the rear wheels. Slowly lower the car onto the jack stands until it rests on them.

Step 3 – Lower the car

To lower the car back to the ground, use the same jack points to raise the car off of the jack stands, then remove the jack stands. Lower the car all the way to the ground.
