Acura TSX 2004-2008: How to Replace Fog Light Bulbs

Replace the fog light bulbs in your 1st Gen Acura TSX using a few simple tools and not much of your time.

The fog lights on your Acura TSX serve to enhance visibility during inclement weather. Driving without fog lights can make it seem like you're driving straight into a creepy horror film. No matter how many times you've traversed the road, there's an unmistakable daunting feeling when your immediate field of vision becomes obscured by fog, especially when traveling at higher speeds. Fully functioning fog lights can certainly help to ease this unnerving feeling, so why not replace those faulty bulbs? Here's the easy step-by-step guide.

Acura TSX 2004-2008: How to Replace Fog Light Bulbs

Materials Needed

  • Flashlight or work light
  • Small flat head screwdriver
  • 10mm wrench/socket
  • New fog light bulbs
  • Gloves

Step 1 – Remove bolts and clip from panel

Look underneath the car where the fog lights are located, and locate the bolts as well as clips securing the panel. Using your 10mm wrench, remove the two bolts. Using your screwdriver, remove the clip.

Step 2 – Untuck the panel

Use your hands to untuck the panel underneath the car that you just loosened in Step 1. This panel is flexible so it shouldn't be difficult to pull down.

Step 3 – Locate and remove the bulb

Slide underneath the car to locate the fog light bulb in its harness. Then, pinch at the spot indicated in Figure 4 to remove the fog light, and gently pull the light down and out.

Once you've removed the light, fully disconnect the wiring harness from the bulb by pinching in the spot indicated in Figure 5.

Warning

Do not try to remove the bulb without disconnecting the wiring harness.

Step 4 – Replace the fog light bulb

Once the wiring harness has been disconnected, remove the bulb by twisting it counterclockwise. Take the new bulb and twist it clockwise into the bulb housing.

Pro Tip

Wear gloves when handling the new bulb; oil from your fingers can cause the bulb to burn out much sooner.

Step 5 – Finishing up

  • Re-attach the wiring harness by snapping it back into place.
  • Re-install the fog light.
  • Tuck the plastic cover back up under the car, and secure the bolts and clip.
  • Repeat steps for the other fog light.
